Fostering your child's sense of self is one of the most important and daunting tasks a parent can undertake. To support your journey in parenting your LGBTQ child, we've put together a list of local Boston and national resources for parenting children and teens. Boston Alliance of LGBTQ Youth

BAGLY: The Boston Alliance of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Youth, is a youth-led, adult-supported social support organization, serving the Massachusetts LGBTQ youth community. With local events, programs, resources, information and more, including a free clinic, BAGLY services as a comprehensive resource for parents and LGBTQ teens.


Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network

With a focus on championing LGBTQ issues in K-12 education, GLSEN offers information, events, resources for anyone looking to get involved. With a MA chapter, they also provide crisis hotlines and legal support.



A longstanding  LGBTQ non-profit, GLAAD is dedicated to providing acceptance for the LGBTQ community. Parents of LGBTQ teens can use their website to find information, resources, events, along with a variety of teen-specific programming.

This local Boston Group provides a variety of events, support, a local hotline for parents and caregivers, sponsorships, internships, and more, along with a host of resources for parents of LGBTQ youth.

Founded my a parent of a gay son, Out Proud Families is a great resource for parents to find information, perspectives and connections for supporting their children. The website also lists a variety of relevant blogs, articles, personal perspectives and more.

Based in Central MA, Safe Homes supports LGBTQ youth through a variety of social opportunities, counseling, youth leadership programming and more.

The Trevor Project

Founded by the creators of the short film TREVOR, The Trevor Project is the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to LGBTQ youth. Along with a chat and phone hotline, their website shares resources, information, news, events, prgramming, education and more towards suicide prevent for LGBTQ youth.
